Colour pencils on kraft are an effective technique because their soft consistency allows one to obtain a variation of line weights. The kraft paper is also forgiving with errors so it's naturally masks exploration. It is also a great way to create sketches that exude emotion and gesture. Don't overwork it or else it will quickly look laboured and diminish its sense of lightness and immediacy.
