COLOUR PENCILS+GREY MARKERS

(on colour kraft)

As with bond paper, the key to using this type of paper is to recognize the paper itself represents a "midtone" such as a 50% tone. But now depending on the colour paper you choose, the approach will need to adjust to how light or dark the paper is. This influences how you treat your highlights and shadows even more. Because it represents the base tone, you can use a grey marker to quickly establish a cast shadow side and use a white pencil to create highlights. The nature of the texture also adds to a bit of drama that bond paper will never be able to offer. Be aware - this paper has a tendency to absorb LOTS of ink.
